I know it won't install/update if I don't have the right drivers, but the thing is it doesn't even show there is an update on the app store page - there is "Launch" button like I have the most recent version and that's it.

The Realtek Console from the AppStore does not want to install nor to update. Do you have any issues with Git 8522 ? Another thing is, that I installed the Realtek Console from a local source - 8513 package posted here some time ago. That's why I went for the MS version of the 8522. On other hand the MS 8519 was butter smooth and I'd even say it sounded a notch better (but this might be psychosomatic delusion ). Thanks for the detailed description Didin't mentioned it, but I've also tried 8519 from the Git and it had some issues at my place - some mild hissing and also crackling on play/pause and headphones plug/unplug. Here's what I have on a friend's ASUS M5A78L-M LE/USB3 motherboard using Realtek UAD driver 8522 and Realtek Audio Console 1.2.136.0 running Win10 Pro 圆4 v1803 136 > these three Realtek software components are listed in Device Manager in the Software Components section. , not from MS update catalog) + updated Realtek audio console UWP app from MS store (v1.2.136.0 or higher) along with correct Realtek audio effects software component (RltkAPOU64.dll is v.642 or higher) with Realtek Audio Universal Service component (v1.0.0.105 or better) and Realtek Hardware Support Application (HSA).

Any ideas why or how to fix this eventually. Recently I switched to 8522 UAD from Microsoft update, the driver works great, but now Realtek console starts, shows the version page and the page where I can switch jack sense on/off. Windows will automatically scan and download the Realtek HD Audio driver and reinstall the Realtek HD Audio Manager software.I've initially installed 8501 UAD on my Asus G51 laptop and at that point Realtek Audio Console was working and showing settings and everything.
